I am very excited it is the 94 Ranger Compact
Lever Action .357 but will shoot .38 which are less expensive.
A great rifle for a woman and I am small so it is really a great rifle for me. 16" barrel, 33" overall and only weighs 5 lbs.
It is much like the old 1895 winchester lever action.
Off to the range I will go and there is one near my home being in the country it is outdoor and perfect for rifles.

Every time someone asks me about a general all around rifle that they can use for "home defence" (please notice my quotes, as I find that topic dubious in the extreme) I always recommend a lever chambered for .357 mag. I want one in .357 Maximum, and that may be something as simple as a chamber ream, but not a lot of gunsmiths are willing to do that.
That said, they're a ball to shoot.
