Re: Walther P22
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 11:10 PMreally? their current "series of features" definition precludes rimfire weapons. also, when you register long guns, DOJ never gets a description other than "long gun". so how would they send you a letter about this?

Re: Walther P22
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 11:26 PMThe P22 got yanked for sale in CA last year because of its threaded barrel, couldnt do a PPT with one either. I forget what the final decision by the DOJ was not owning one I just remember the talk about it from a couple of buds. -

Re: Walther P22
Tue, May 3, 2005 - 7:25 AMHuh????? A threaded barrel and a p22? its a p22. I live in the "live free or die" state so i have no idea how these bans work, or the technicalities. I have a p22 and thought this thread was going to be about the slide lock failure. I'm going to research this rim fire and threaded barrel deal.

Re: Walther P22
Tue, May 3, 2005 - 7:39 AMIn 2003 the CA legislature passed an amendment to their AWB that the P22 was cosidered an assault weapon because of its threaded barrel. Smith&Wesson the distributar of the P22 is retro fitting all pre bill P22's with a permanant berrel free of charge to comply with the california law. -
